Too Close for Comfort

So Sunday morning I got up early and got the kids some breakfast and then decided since we don't go to church until 1:00 that I would go back to bed and get some much needed sleep.  Around 9:00 Jeremy woke up and asked me if something was in the oven or if I was baking something.  I told him Brielle had asked to make waffles so that is what he was smelling.

When he came upstairs a while later he informed me that the smell was definitely not waffles.

Here is what he found.

This is a pillow from our couch that was leaning up next to the fireplace.  Totally Burned! Jeremy cut the hole in it to see how far it burned, but can I just say that is so scary!  My kids had turned on one of their cute "LIKEN THE SCRIPTURE" videos and were snuggled up on the floor by the fire watching their movie.  For those of you who don't know me well, when I was 14 our house caught fire in the middle of the night.  I am already completely physco about house fires.    Just a little to close for my liking.

However, I do feel extremely blessed and know that my Heavenly Father was watching out for me and my family.  I am so thankful that my children did not have to experience a house fire on this day.
