Simple Things

I love this time of year when we reflect on what we are thankful for.  This week for Family Home Evening I took my kids grocery shopping to buy food to donate to the Salvation Army.  Afterwards, we talked about how we should be grateful for everything we have and how such a small amount of service goes a long way.  My kids told me some of the things they were thankful for which included family, friends, home, baby dolls, singing, blankets, toys, video games, health, freedom, food, church, music, temples etc.  It is fun to watch them really think about it.  When I got home Tuesday night from our stake auxiliary meeting Chase came over and handed me a note.

It said:

Dear Mom, Thank you for feeding us and you are the best Mom in the whole world! from Chase.

This card was so sweet. It is the simple things I am so thankful for.

I am so thankful for all that I have been blessed with.  I am grateful for a husband that loves me and loves our family.  I am thankful for my membership in the church, that without I cannot even imagine my life.  I am so thankful that my heavenly father saw fit to bless me with four beautiful children and let me fulfill my dream of becoming a mother.   I am thankful for the loving relationship I have with my parents and siblings. I am thankful for all of my amazing friends who help me and love me.  I am thankful that we live in a free country and for all of the men and women who fight to keep our country safe.  I really could go on and on and on.  I have so much to be thankful for and I do count my blessings every day.

What a sweet letter to get from your son! These moments are like gold. :)

Also, you had a great FHE idea--I'll have to do that one too. I think my kids would like that.
