Wenatchee Weekend

We went to Wenatchee on Saturday and Sunday to visit Jeremy's Mom and brother Jesse. It was a quick trip but really great to see them. Jesse grilled Hamburgers and Hot Dogs on Saturday night for us and Grandma made yummy cookies and we got to sit around and talk. Sunday we went to chuch with them and Jesse was ordained. It was a good day. It always seems way to short when we see them. They only live 2 hours away but with kids in school and activities it is hard to get away. Thanks for letting us come for the quick trip, we had a fun time.

Cute picture of you guys!

That's neat that you have family somewhat nearby to make weekend trips at least. It's been hard at times living in Arizona far away from our families. But then again, I like it that way too! haha

My sister, Tami, and her three children live about 4 hours north in a small town here in AZ. It's been awesome having them closer!

Hey Jenne. This is kinda wierd, but I just found your blog, Jill's blog, and Carrie's blog today through Karalenn's blog. I'm sure you don't remember me, but I was your uncle Randy's step daughter from 1983-1998. I wanted to tell you that I remember how nice you were to to me when I was growing up. I remember two Smart family reunions that we were both at, and I have fond memories of you from both. On the first one in 1992 you and your cute friend Shasta taught us the "chicky" song and dance. You were so sweet to include the younger cousins and make us feel included in what you were doing. The second time was when you were engaged (or almost engaged) to your husband. You showed me how to do my hair like yours, and how to put on eyeliner, among other things. I know it sounds lame, but at the time I really appreciated an older girl being so warm and caring. I didn't have any sisters, and I always wished I had an older one. I tried to do the same with my younger cousins as the years went by. Thanks for being such a good example to me, it actually made a difference in my life.

It's nice to see how the Smarts are doing. I have felt so disconnected from you guys for so long. I am so glad that you are all doing so well. How are your parents and your brothers?

Thanks for all of your kindness all those years ago. It's great how little things like that have such a lasting effect.
