This weekend my Grandma will turn 85. Yep the big 85! I can honestly say that she is the most amazing woman ever. Here are 85 things about her I think everyone should know.
1.) Her name is Treva Hindmarsh Showman
2.) She was born on October 28, 1922
3.) Her parents are George and Myrtle Hindmarsh
4.) She was the youngest of 4 girls. Her three sisters have names I have never heard....Vella, Lola, and Guine.
5.) She was raised in Weiser, Idaho
6.) She lives in Boise Idaho.
7.) She was married on May 5th, 1946
8.) She married a handsome young man named Eugene Showman, who I hear is a crazy old bugger.
9.) She is good at everything that she does, I have never seen anything that she does not do well.
10.) She loves her family and spends all of her time serving others.
11.) She has Indian heritage, however we have seen some pictures that make us question if it is really Indian. ha ha ha ha?????
12.) She is an amazing cook!
13.) She likes purple (but don't all grandmas?)
14.) She is a winter like me, which means we look good in the same colors.
15.) She has the best homegrown Tomatos, and she would brings us bags full when she visits. YUM!
16.) She has 11 great-grandchildren
17.) She is very generous and giving.
18.) She goes to church every Sunday and loves the Lord.
19.) She has 12 grandkids.
20.) She works at her church every week.
21.) She makes the best Banana bread ever!
22.) She prefers her drinking water without ice.
23.) She is one of those people you can tell anything. She makes you feel so comfortable.
24.) She has 4 beautiful daughters, who all sound just like her on the phone.
25.) She stays up late and works on cross stitch projects while watching TV
26.) She has a lot of cool antiques in her house.
27.) She is a hard worker.
28.) She passed down to me the most beautiful spider veins...thanks grandma
29.) She is gorgeous! I don't know how my grandpa landed such a foxy lady.
30.) She grows the best raspberries, that make even better raspberry jam.
31.) She goes on walks everyday.
32.) She can waterski and snowski beautifully.
33.) She is supportive of me and my family.
34.) She is an amazing seamstress. She spent many late nights up making matching dresses for her girls.
35.) She has a great sense of humor.
36.) She was the actual driver of the famous "CANDY TRUCK"
37.) Her mother lived to be 103 years old, and I hope she can beat her record.
38.) I would always stay with her when I would coach the Boise State Gymastics Camp.
39.) She is really fun to be around. She is always smiling and easy to talk to.
40.) She has cross-stitched something beautiful for everyone of my children.
41.) I wish I lived closer to her because I love spending time with her.
42.) She loves me, I mean after all I was the 1st grandchild.
43.) She always has candy in little glass dishes all over her house, I am sure after our family left her house every dish was empty.
44.) All of us girls got our besutifully shapley knees from her.
45.) She makes the best homemeade gravy in the whole world.
46.) Just thinking about her makes me hungry because I love to eat her food.
47.) She keeps everything. She still has Dolls from when my Mom was a baby.
48.) I will never forget sleeping in the family room and hearing the rain drip into the coffee cans hanging from her ceiling.
49.) She came to Spokane to visit in May when Jeremy graduated and Chase was Baptised. It meant the world to us to have her there.
50.) When my Mom used to sleep walk in the 5th grade, my grandma would play the piano to help her sleep. Although she says she doesn't play the piano.
51.) Her fried chicken recipe is to die for!!! Seriously unreal! I do believe it is the best in the world!
52.) She is honest and loyal.
53.) My kids think she is great, and I love that.
54.) One of my favorite recipes is her Ministrone soup.
55.) One of her favorite sayings was "things will look better in the morning".
56.) She has put up with my grandpa for 61 years, WOW that deserves an award! Just joking grandpa!
57.) She is always optimistic.
58.) She was the wedding coordinator for the church for many years.
59.) She would support her kids and grandkids in all of their activitys by going and watching and cheering for them.
60.) I think she may have one of everything ever made. She is a collector.
61.) Her family is the most important thing in the world.
62.) She still is totally fashionable. She has some of the cutest dresses I have ever seen, and she always looks put together.
63.) She has the coolest closets, especially in the red bedroom (which isn't red anymore) They have huge mirrors in them that I loved to open and shut and see how I looked.
64.) Up until recently she would be up on her roof putting up her Christmas Lights. Grandma...that's dangerous!
65.) She has organized all of her pictures, and believe me she has a ton!
66.) She is a great decorator.
67.) She was a great room Mom and always brought cookies to school for her girls.
68.) She does not own a computer, but I wish she did so I could talk to her via e-mail.
69.) She worked at a bank before she was married.
70.) She is compassionate and loving.
71.) Mt grandparents ran the Magnolia Hotel when they first moved to Boise.
72.) My Mom said that when she was growing up, her Mom would use the same slang as her teenage daughters. She called people "airheads","fredricks","Dingbats", pickfaces. Way to go Grandma!
73.) She and my granfather used to square dance and she has great costumes for it. Like the mermaid one that my Mom said she could never play in.
74.) She once found a real diamond necklace at a garage/estate sale that she was working at, she bought it for $2. Nice find! She still wears it.
75.) She still keeps in touch with friends from high school.
76.) She is never sick.
77.) She gave me my first piece of candy. I guess she really was the Candy Lady.
78.) She once dropped a turkey on her toe and it turned black & blue but she still wouldn't go to the doctor.
79.) She made me my first nighties when I was a baby.
80.) Her father died when she was a young child so her mother raised them by herself and never remarried. I would say that she did an outstanding job.
81.) She supported her girls in all that they did, whether it was Jobies, 4-H, drill team, sports or music she was always there.
82.) Everyone always requests her famous potato salad. MMMMMMMM!
83.) She taught all of her daughters how to sew.
84.) She was a stay at home Mom.
85.) She is truly an amazing woman, and I can only hope some of that was passed down to me. I love you Grandma!

so you look way skinny. now I cant come home for a while. I have to much catching up to do. Really cute pictures. You look so much like your aunts and mom.
